Here's what's happening in the shop this week:
Our first rental certification class is scheduled for next Thursday, Oct 19th from 1 to 4 p.m. There are five spots are available. This is a prerequisite class for booking time on our long arm rental machines. 3-Hour Class: Learn how to square up your quilt and remove selvages, attach your quilt top and backing to the red snappers loading system, roll your quilt onto the leader bar, line up your pantograph, load your bobbins, and how to quilt the pantograph using a laser. Class price is $100.00. You will need to provide a small quilt top (no larger than baby quilt/small lap quilt), batting and backing for the class. You will go home with a quilted project!
Batting and backing fabrics are all available for purchase. Backing needs to be 5" bigger on each side of the quilt top to allow for loading system. Price includes use of red snappers, paper pantograph use and thread. Paper pantographs are also available to purchase if desired. Your instructions will be emailed to you once you sign up for this class. OR you can drop by our store to enroll and pick up your instructions. Once you have your rental certification class, the machines are ready for you to book.
New Fabrics and Collections are Arriving Weekly!!
We are still waiting for some shelving in order to get these lovely collections and our remaining bolts displayed for you... so for now they are available on our website and can be picked up at the store. We love what is arriving and think you will too! Some notions are in stock and also ready for online ordering. Once we make it pretty you will enjoy the shopping experience...guaranteed!
Quilting and sewing classes are being added to the website daily. Here is a current sample of our offerings:
Beginner Quilting (4 spaces left) - Sun. Oct 29 & Sun. Nov 5 (noon to 4 pm). Class fee $75 and includes free baby quilt pattern. Fabric and supplies not included. You will learn how to use quilting tools, simple quilt piecing techniques, proper pressing techniques, preparing for quilting, sandwiching your quilt, simple stitch in the ditch quilting.
Amish Block Party (5 spaces left) - Wed. Nov 8 & Nov 15 - 10 to 2 pm - Class Fee $87 including pattern. You will learn accurate strip piecing, how different fabrics impact the design, Y seams, and yes! ... that geometry really can be fun!
Montenegro (5 spaces left) - Sun. Oct 15 & Oct 22 - noon to 4 pm - Class Fee $87 including pattern. In this class you will learn accurate cutting, chain piecing and quilt top construction techniques. The skill level for this class is Confident Beginner to Intermediate.
Quilted GarmentSweatshirt Jacket technique class (5 spaces left) - Wed. Nov 22 & Wed Nov 29 - 10 am to 2 pm - Class Fee $75. A fun technique class, where we will take a store bought sweatshirt and embellish it with a quilt block(s) and fabric strips, fun yarns, buttons or bling. You get to decide on your final design! Quilt Block patterns will be included in class fee.
Waltz Around the World (5 spaces left) - Sun. Nov 12 & Sun. Nov 19 - noon to 4 pm - Class Fee $87 including pattern. This pattern is a combination of "Tennessee Waltz" quilt pattern and the classic "Trip Around the World". This is a Confident Beginner to Immediate level class.
All classes take place in our classroom at 880 25th Street NW, Cleveland, TN. 37311. (Back entrance) Must be prepaid when booking.

In our next newsletter, we will showcawe some three yard quilt kits using the Fabric Cafe - 3-yard quilt books. They are really fun and we think you will love the coordinating fabrics we put together.
