Welcome to The Stitchery, where passion for fabric, and the art of sewing converge. We have a deep love for sewing and a mission to ensure that this valuable skill is preserved for future generations.
Hi, I’m Mavis!
Quilting has been a big part of my life for more than 25 years, and what started as a love for creating quilts has grown into a journey I never could have imagined. Along the way, I’ve become a pattern designer, teacher, long-arm quilter, and, most importantly, someone who loves sharing the joy of quilting with others.
In 2018, I earned my long-arm quilting certification through APQS and Fons & Porter. I specialize in edge-to-edge quilting with digitized pantographs, but I also love creating custom quilting designs that make each quilt feel truly special.
As an APQS Sales Representative, I get to share my enthusiasm for these amazing machines with other quilters. I especially enjoy helping people discover just how much a long-arm machine can add to their quilting journey—and, of course, telling them about the incredible APQS lifetime warranty!
Most days, you’ll find me at The Stitchery with a quilt under my needle. I might be adding texture and personality to a customer’s quilt, helping one of our rental customers learn the ins and outs of long-arm quilting, or teaching a class in our classroom.
I feel incredibly blessed that something I’ve loved for more than 25 years has become something I get to share with others every day. There’s nothing quite like seeing a quilt come to life—and I’m always happy to help someone else enjoy that moment, too.
